How the 3 Days Are Structured
Day 1 – Foundations & Best Practices
Day one focuses on building a strong base for backcountry travel. You’ll work one-on-one with your coach to develop:
Fundamental rider skills and movement
Best practices for backcountry motorized travel
Basic mechanical knowledge and problem-solving
Efficient habits that build confidence and consistency
The goal is to establish strong fundamentals and comfort off-trail.
Day 2 – Technical Skills & Terrain Management
Day two builds on that foundation with a focus on progression. You’ll develop:
Advanced movement and rider techniques
Terrain management and intentional line choice
Improved control and efficiency in more complex terrain
Freeriding opportunities to apply new skills with coaching support
This day emphasizes skill application and confidence through repetition.
Day 3 – Avalanche Awareness & Coached Freeriding
The final day brings everything together. The morning begins with:
Avalanche awareness concepts
Navigation skills and route planning
Risk management strategies for backcountry riding
The remainder of the day is spent freeriding with coaching, applying:
Technical riding skills
Terrain selection and management
Group travel and decision-making strategies
