Learn the fundamentals of participating in a tour planning process with your guide. Discover tools to evaluate the avalanche and weather forecast along with methods to address the daily hazard(s). Utilize mapping applications to implement the forecast assessment into your trip plan by choosing terrain that avoids hazards and meets learning objectives and group goals.

Unlock your ability to maneuver your snow machine on demand. The clinic is segmented into learning stations throughout the day with time and space to practice with direct coach feedback. Simplifying the technical skills into progressive steps with discussions and demonstrations, allows riders to develop an understanding of the fundamentals of the machine dynamics and the physical process. The core movement skills are are typically taught in categories that allow natural progression from simpler skills to more difficult techniques.

Traveling in and through backcountry terrain as a motorized group has specific challenges that include inherent hazards from snow, weather and avalanches along with terrain selection that aligns with the recognized hazards and groups ability level. Prepare to learn how to manage a group and safely move through the terrain from one destination to another. Your coaches will be modeling this throughout the day and providing space for discussions in regards to group decision-making and proper terrain selection for each learning station and/or movement exercise.

The cumulation of the day’s successes should always extend from a core ethic of teamwork. The more aligned we are as a team that manages risk, the more fun it all becomes. Our goal is to create a positive learning environment that enables everyone’s ability to learn, ask questions and practice with a professional coach. We meet each rider at their level and strive to provide opportunities and riding zones that accommodate everyone in the group. Our goal is to stay safe, enjoy our time in the mountains and keeping the energy high for unlocking new rider abilities!
